Quotes and installs

How do I get a quote?

Fill in the quote form or call us. For solar and batteries, a recent power bill helps us size the system properly. We then send you a written quote.

Who will I deal with?

You deal directly with us, the people who design and install your system. There is no retailer or call centre in the middle.

What are your hours?

We work Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm. Send a quote request any time and we will get back to you within one business day.

How long does an install take?

It depends on the system and your property. Your quote includes an expected install time, and we confirm the date with you before we start.

Do you handle the paperwork?

Yes. We submit the connection application to Western Power (or Horizon Power in regional areas), issue the compliance certificate, and claim the STC rebate for your solar or battery system. We let you know once your system is approved to export.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Kher Ming and Terry handle every job themselves. Kher Ming, our licensed electrician, does the electrical work, and Terry runs the job from quote to handover.

What warranty do you give?

Our installs come with a 10-year workmanship warranty. Panels, inverters, batteries and chargers also carry their own manufacturer warranties, which vary by product.

Are you insured?

Yes. We hold public liability insurance.

Are you licensed?

Yes. Flux Energy Group holds electrical contractor licence EC 17541. Our solar and battery installs are led by Kher Ming Tan, a licensed electrician and SAA-accredited installer (accreditation S7641725).

What areas do you cover?

We work across Perth metro and surrounding areas, including Mandurah, Rockingham, Ellenbrook and the Perth Hills. If you are not sure, send us your postcode and we will let you know.

Do you work with businesses?

Yes. We install solar and batteries for businesses as well as homes, plus EV chargers and general electrical work. See our commercial page for more.

What if something goes wrong after the install?

Call us. We support the systems we install, so if there is a service issue you come straight back to the people who put it in.

Solar and batteries

What affects the cost of a system?

Mainly the size of the solar system and battery, your roof (type, pitch and number of storeys), the condition of your switchboard, whether you have single or three-phase power, and the rebates you are eligible for. We quote every job individually.

What is the difference between single-phase and three-phase power?

Most homes have single-phase power. Three-phase is common in larger homes and businesses and allows bigger solar systems and faster EV charging. Not sure which you have? Send us a photo of your switchboard and we will tell you.

What size solar system do I need?

It depends on how much power you use, when you use it, and your roof. Send us a recent bill and we will recommend a size that suits you.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar?

Often, yes. It depends on your current inverter and switchboard. We check what you have and tell you whether it can stay or needs changing.

Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?

Only if it is set up for backup. Not every battery system does this automatically. If backup matters to you, tell us and we will design for it.

Do I need solar to get a battery rebate?

Yes. For the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, the battery must be installed with solar, either new or existing. Batteries that only charge from the grid are not eligible. See our rebates page for details.

EV chargers and electrical

Do I need a dedicated EV charger?

You can charge from a standard power point, but it is slow. A wallbox charger is much faster and is installed on its own protected circuit.

Do I need a switchboard upgrade?

Older switchboards sometimes need upgrading before adding solar, a battery or an EV charger. We check yours and tell you upfront.

Can you fix a fault or tripping breaker?

Yes. We find the cause of tripping breakers, dead circuits and flickering lights, then repair it safely.
